Statics according to the laws of balance and leverage.

• Upper unilateral
• free-end saddle

Static balance is attained by slightly reducing the load arm (e.g. by positioning the last molar out of contact). An indirect occlusal rest, away from the free-end saddle, improves the statics and prevents the premolars from tipping.

The final base design is an achievement of static balance and yet delicate, elegant design.
