The E clasp is the simplest and most popular cast metal clasp used today.
It consists of an occlusal rest and two clasp arms which provide retention in the gingival quarter furthest away from the occlusal rest. Only the vestibular clasp arm enters the undercut area. The oral clasp arm rests above the prosthetic equator and acts as a counter balance.
