On reading this compendium the dental technician will find a large collection of valuable information and tips regarding the manufacture of crowns and bridges made from non-precious metal alloys. This unique reference book was compiled by an experienced team of authors, all of whom are familiar with every day laboratory practice. The authors are well known experts who have spent the last few years training technicians in this field, both at home and abroad. It is thanks to this experience that in the course of time an extensive amount of information could be collected about non-precious metals. This information is now ready to be published in a compact form in this compendium.
It was always Dentaurum’s main objective to offer high quality prosthetic products. In 1935 Dentaurum introduced remanit® to the market, the first non-precious metal alloy. The remanium® Program has since been continuously developed and today covers a large spectrum from modern model casting alloys to non-precious metal bonding alloys with various constituents for different uses. remanium® alloys are now well known world wide and stand for high corrosive strength, easy use and reliable quality. It is therefore understandable that this “compendium” should carry the same brand name.
Both the apprentice and the experienced technician will find the remanium® Compendium a useful, methodical hand book for everyday use. The chapters in the remanium® Compendium relate to one another in a step by step manner and yet are complete in their own right. Individual situations are photo documented in practical working steps.
The first part of the remanium® Compendium describes the manufacture of crowns and bridges and in particular their production methods compared to precious metal alloys. The many photos and pictures make reading the individual working steps such as fabricating the bridge framework, the ceramic build-up and polishing a full metal crown very enjoyable. The text could therefore be reduced to a minimum. Advice and practical tips keep the reader alert and interested in special features.
